Page 66 Son of Richard Strode [42] Page 71 - Number 75 Richard Strode was born May 5, 1777 in East Bradford township. He followed the occupation of his forefathers, that of farming. He married Frances Osborn and among the children was a son, Marshall Strode, who was born in East Bradford township May 10, 1820, on the old homestead. ("Genealogical and Personal Memoirs of Chester and Delaware Counties, Pa.," by Gilbert Cope.) Richard Strode was apparently living with his father at the 1790 and 1800 censuses. In the 1830 census he is shown with one man 20 to 30, two boys of 10 to 15, his wife 50 to 60, one woman 20 to 30, and two girls 15 to 20. He died Aug. 23, 1852, West Chester. In his will of June 28, 1852, proved Sept. 1, 1852, Richard Strode, of the Borough of West Chester, left his son Marshall his plantation, partly in East Bradford and partly in Westtown, his son Francis the woodland in West Bradford and mentioned his daughters Elizabeth, Hannah, and Sarah. the administrators were Francis and Marshall.
