About Connecticut, Marriage Record Index, 1959–2007
This database was acquired from the Connecticut Department of Public Health, and originally entitled Marriage Records. The descriptive information here is adapted from the Connecticut Department of Public Health State Vital Records Office website. More information about the database may be available there.
These records contain an index of marriages from Connecticut. Each entry includes the following information, when available: full names of the bride and groom, birth dates of bride and groom, date and location of the marriage, and the bride and groom's age and residence at the time of the marriage.
Marriage indexes offer insight about the unions found in your family tree. At a minimum, marriage records from Connecticut usually include the following information: the first and last names of each party, and the marriage date and location. More modern and detailed records can include the names of parents, residences of the bride and groom, and the officiant. You can then use this information to help you find your ancestors in other Connecticut resources such as other newspapers, land, and probate records.
